The Military Museum in Budapest is on the Buda Castle Hill, close to the Buda Castle, the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Matthias Church and the Rock Hospital nuclear bunker. There are original cannons along the walls of the museum, which might be fun for kids to take a look at, or even ride on.
The Museum was founded in 1918 as the collection of outstanding historical military objects, tools, documents, etc. in Hungary: there are more than 50,000 weapons, 5,000 flags, 28,000 coins, 30,000 military uniforms, etc. in the Military Museum (Hadtorteneti Muzeum in Hungarian). One of our favourite exhibit in the museum is the spacesuit / uniform of the first Hungarian cosmonaut (on the Soviet Soyuz 35 and 36, in 1980)
