Ludwig Museum Budapest features an analytical temp exhibition / site inspection: arts of work on ‘Museum Self Reflection’.
“The artists who practiced institutional critique in their art in the 1960s and 1970s consciously created works of art that are not marketable or easily museologized. It is a paradoxical situation that, most of these works are in museums by now.” Ludwig Museum Budapest is 20 years old now. On the 20th anniversary of the first permanent exhibition of the Ludwig Museum, the museum is looking at itself in the mirror. The artists who keep the mirror range from international artists to Hungarian artists, from Marcel Duchamp though Akira Kurosawa to Gyula Pauer.
