Pool and fitness in Boscolo Hotel Budapest – the New York Palace as Luxury Hotel
The design of the spa of New York Palace Budapest does not follow the lavish eclectic grandeur of the building. Instead it is a futuristic blueness inspired by an alpine ice-cave: there are waterfalls, large half round Swarowski crystal prisms as well as a purifying sauna, a regenerating Turkish bath and an indoor swimming pool (opening hours: 8am to 9pm) illuminated by blue lamps. As one of the customer hotel reviews on TripAdvisor writes “The spa was something out of a James Bond scene, it was free too, and I went three times, and still sat in my robe looking about as if I was in a imaginary underworld place.” The various treatments will make you feel revigorated and reassured that you have treated yourself with one of the cutting edge therapies available.
Dining in Boscolo Hotel Budapest – the New York Palace as Luxury Hotel
The Deepwater Restaurant of New York Palace Boscolo Hotel serves traditional Italian and some local food and a great selection of wines (open from 6 to 11 pm). The legendary New York Cafe is a must to Budapest visitors: even if you are not a Tiramisu fan, or a coffee-drinker, you may wish to look at the interior, and expect prices on par with the fabulous design. You may have to wait 10 minutes to get in. The Cigar Bar gives a relaxing break and serves renowned cigars, cognacs, etc. One of the guests wrote the following (TripAdvisor): “Breakfasts was superb, with its wide range of yummy cakes, crispy croissants, fruit juices, yogurt, egg cooked to order, ham and bacon – the choice and quality offered here outshines that of the Gresham, anytime, trust me!” Anyway, the design of New York Palace restaurant and cafe was made by award-winning Adam D. Tihany (world-famous architect and designer of luxury hotels and restaurants, like The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Le Cirque in New York, the Blue Heaven hotel in Frankfurt, Aleph Hotel in Rome, etc.). Interestingly enough, Tihany Design writes the following: “Tihany Design created an original and unique concept for the New York Cafe. However, Tihany Design does not want to associate its name with the project as the client has opened without installing a large part of the major design features that were created for the space.” Nevertheless, some of that unique concept must have been realized, as the cafe is magnificent.
